What are the Best Things About the Book?

A few of the best things, in my opinion, are how vividly the setting is described in every part and how the author can relate to the reader even when the characters are so different. Each part of the book I can visualize so easily that I get a movie in my head! Like when shes describing how she could fall "I can imagine my body plummeting, smacking into the bars as I fell down and my limbs at broken angles on the pavement, just like Rita's sister when she didn't make it onto the roof." (Roth, 146) This is so descriptive in the words that she chooses and the way she relates to another event to show what she imagined. Also how the author can relate to the reader in small ways, making me at least, feel as if I were in the book, watching what happened and listening to the thoughts of the characters. Throughout the book I found a few small themes, like chose your own path, when Tris chooses a different faction then her family. These small themes can help connect people as readers to the books, like it did for me.

  2. I agree with you about the best things in the book. The imagery and themes were very intriguing. Also I agree with Lakin the book was much better but it was still a good movie.

  3. I have never read divergent. But, I did watch the movie and enjoyed it a lot! It was deffinitely a wonderful movie. The way you describe the book, makes it sound even better than the movie (I didn't think that was possible). :)

  5. I have not read divergent yet. But from the amount of people reading the books and how good they are, I want to read the book before I see the movie. From your quote I can tell that the author uses great imagery.
